IU x SUGA Collab to be Released on May 6th!
IU is teaming up with SUGA for her upcoming comeback!
- 4/28 KST: IU just released the first teaser image of the single called “8” (에잇).
- 4/30 KST: IU just released the second teaser image showing slight hints at the theme, maybe?
- 5/2 KST: IU just released the moving teaser disclosing a short audio verse.
- 5/5 KST: IU just released the MV teaser which shows a futuristic theme.
On April 27, IU’s agency EDAM Entertainment announced that the talented singer would be making her highly-anticipated comeback next month.
A representative of the agency stated, “IU (x SUGA) will be releasing a digital single on May 6, as well as a music video along with her music.”
EDAM Entertainment also revealed that IU collaborated with our very own SUGA (both producing and featuring!) in creating her upcoming song. Pointing out that IU and SUGA are the same age, the agency commented:
“As musicians of the same age, the two singers were able to relate to one another and use that as a foundation for exchanging opinions. They created their own unique synergy, which is reflected in the song.”
IU has already completed filming the music video for the new song, which her agency describes as different in style from her past music. SUGA is also confirmed to have participated in the production as well being featured on the track!
